It seems like only yesterday, summer always seems like that, we took a nice tour though wine country in Kelowna, British Columbia. It was a fantastic experience and for wine lovers like my wife and I it was a real treat.

Vacationing in the Rocky Mountains is something that we do frequently and I can tell you now there are many different sides to the various locations we’ve been too.

Kelowna, more specifically Penticton, located in the heart of the Okanagan Valley wine country has an almost European feel. The rolling landscape and vineyards bring up memories of France and Italy.

The accommodation and dining are first rate and of course the wine is some of the finest you will find. We probably enjoyed ourselves a bit too much to be honest.

Banff, well what’s not to love about Banff. The whole place reminds me of Switzerland, and being only minutes from Calgary you can be there in no time at all. We frequently take of on last minute trips to Banff just for the day hiking and to do some wildlife photography. It does not disappoint.

Recent construction in the town has made me avoid the place for the last few months, but I am eager to return as soon as I can take vacation time.

More on this later…
